News Reporter and Anchor - Benton Harbor

Posted date: Mar 30, 2010

Do you have a need to
know? Are you naturally curious? Do you want to talk to and
learn from politicians, civic leaders, captains of industry? The
Michigan Association of Broadcasters Small Market Station
of the year - for 7 years running - is looking for the next member
of our award winning team. AM1400 & FM94.9, WSJM has sent
many reporters directly on to markets like Grand Rapids, Detroit
and Chicago, and the training opportunities in this small market
that covers news like the big guys are excellent. This position
does include evening and some weekend hours, and the flexibility
to respond when breaking news happens. We’re looking for a
reporter/anchor that can both cover assignments handed out by
the news director and independently develop stories pertinent to
southwest Michigan. Digital audio editing (Cool Edit Pro),
accurate and conversational writing, and a basic knowledge of
how local government works are the skills essential to landing
this position. Experience preferred, but will consider a recent
grad that truly wants to become a news reporter/anchor. Please
send your resume, writing samples, and MP3 airchecks (or CD’s)
to: Jim Gifford, Operations Manager Midwest Family
Broadcasting in Michigan’s Great Southwest 580 East Napier
Avenue Benton Harbor, MI 49022 or: e-mail:
